Watch out, Beethoven!

Yep, Jackson inherited the musical talent in our family, but definitely not from me. This one is all Dad! Jackson taught himself Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star on the piano one morning before school! Completely by ear and with no help from me. He even jazzed it up a little here and there, see if you can hear it in the video! I'm so amazed by him and I thought you might be, too! Enjoy!

P.S. Don't forget to pause the music from my play list. Just scroll down a little and you'll see it on the right hand side!

What's up with us?

What is up with us? Not too much, but I thought I'd give ya a little update. We are good, praise the Lord! He is so good to us, sometimes I feel like something bad is going to happen just becuase it can't be this good all the time! I guess I just need to keep praying, thanking, and praising Him for all the blessings in my life!

We'll start off with James news. He has his first official "assignment" as a firemen and he started his new schedule as of yesterday! He's always been in an academy, a seasonal employee, an apprentice, on probation, or a "floater" and has never been assigned to a specific station until this year. He's on the Truck at station 45, which is the big fire truck with the tiller in the back (there's a guy that drives the back end) for the entire year. He's really excited to be somewhere permanent and have an established crew to work with. We are both excited about his new schedule. They are now working a 48/96 schedule, which means they work for two days straight and then are off for four days. It's so much better then the Kelly schedule, which was a day on and day off for 5 days and then four days off. They actually work the same amount of days, believe it or not, but they are always home for four days! We did this before at James' previous department, and we like it much better.

Now on to the kiddos! They are all doing fantastic! Jackson is excelling in First Grade, which we pretty much knew he would. He's of course had a few bad days here and there, but still really enjoys it and is so stinkin' smart it's unbelievable! At his first conference in Nov. his teacher said he's already at the level he should be at the END of First Grade! He's amazing, and is growing up so much, I just love hanging out with him.

Ryan is also doing really well in pre-school. He's got a ton of friends he plays with, which is no surprise to us, he's such a fun, social kid. He's also learning alot, too! He can write his name, recongize most letters and just today he counted (well he called it clapping!) to 100!!! I was so amazed, I had no idea he could count that high! He also sings all the little songs he learns at school, (you may have heard a few in past blog posts)! He still has a crazy, active imagination and LOVES to play!

Hailey is of course growing up way too fast and I'm so sad that my little baby isn't a little baby anymore! She is talking, talking, talking, all the time! She amazes us everyday at how much she understands and with what she can say. It's really nice that she can communicate with us better now, there's a lot less screaming. Not to say it's gone, oh no, just a lot less! She also has a trait that neither of the boys had - taking off her poopy diapers! Yuck! I'd better say it again - YUCK! My only hope is that this means she'll be potty trained VERY soon. She has gone on the potty twice and sits on it a couple times a day. Right now she's more interested in putting the TP in it and flushing it so she can say "bye-bye, boo-boo's", which is her word for pooh-pooh! It's so cute, I just hope she starts actually going on the potty soon because I sure don't like cleaning up her messes! :-)

I guess that leaves me. There's not much new with me, other then cleaning up the poop! I'm really enjoying our new house, alot! It's so wonderful and I feel so blessed to have it! We've been working on pool plans and hope to get it started next month! I've also been doing projects around the house. James helped me get my craft room all organized and it's AWESOME! I also am recovering our dining room chairs, thanks, Laura, for the help! They look fantastic! Of course I'm kept busy with my beautiful kiddos, taking them to and from school and having playdates at the park, (the past few weeks have been gorgeous, but it's raining now!) and of course just hanging out as a family!

Well, thats it! That is what is up with us for now. Hope you are all well! God bless you!

Happy New Year!

That's right, it's 2009! Unbelievable that it's yet the start of another new year and that almost 10 years ago we were welcoming the new millenium! :-) I know it's been said before, but it still holds true - time does fly! We had a wonderful Christmas, as I've already blogged, but our New Year has had a bumpy start! I rang in 2009 with strep throat, not fun, and had to wake James up at 1 minute to midnight! I know, a bunch of fuddyduddy's we are! Things are of course getting better as the antibiotics have kicked in and the fact that no one else got sick is a real miracle! Praise God for that! We are almost back into the swing of things around here. Jackson went back to school this week, but Ryan is off until Monday and James was on vacation until today! It sure was nice having him home while I was sick! We did manage to get a lot of projects done around the house, the most exciting for me was the organizing of my craft room! James and the boys also built a new workbench for the garage, and man does it look awesome! James was able to put his new saw he got for Christmas to good use! We also decorated the spare room, so if you need a place to stay we are all ready for you! Now we still have a lot more to do, but it sure is a nice feeling to get some stuff done! I feel inspired to DO! I hope you have had a nice beginning to 2009 and it just gets better and better through out the year!
